COAST-SCAPES attended the 6th ESP Europe Conference

COAST-SCAPES attended the 6th ESP Europe Conference

The 6th edition of the Ecosystem Services Partnership Europe Conference took place between the 18th and the 22nd of May in Prague, Czechia, bringing together scientists, policymakers, practitioners and a diverse range of stakeholders. At the event, participants explored how ecosystem services can be protected in efforts to reduce social inequality and strengthen climate resilience while driving sustainable economic development. The programme provided a comprehensive and well-balanced combination of various plenary sessions, parallel sessions and networking opportunities.

On behalf of COAST-SCAPES, project partner Fabienne Hornemann, PhD candidate and affiliate researcher at CMCC (Euro-Mediterranean Center on Climate Change), contributed to the conference by delivering a presentation focusing on the role of service-based risk assessment modelling for transformative climate adaptation in coastal areas. The presentation was part of Session X13, titled “Nature-based Solutions for resilient landscapes: Ecosystem service-based risk assessment modelling for transformative climate adaptation in Coastal Areas", highlighting important topics such as ecosystem risk assessment modeling and policy frameworks supporting resilient landscapes and soil health restoration. This session brought together researchers, practitioners and policymakers, allowing for a broad promotion of COAST-SCAPES’ approaches to enhance the integration of NbS across coastal communities.
